Day 120 - USA :

I feel totally exhausted especially after such a long flight. But when I lay down last night to get some rest, I was not able to fall asleep.

Day 119 - USA : Hello Los Angeles...

I did some final packing ad last bookings for my upcoming destinations when I got up. I have a 13 hour flight ahead of me as I am flying to Los Angeles today. Thankfully I had a great night's sleep. For breakfast, I had last night's left over soup while Savina face timed Jennifer and devoured into her yoghurt and fruits.

Said good-bye to Dung, Evin, Savina and Juliet and expressed my thanks for having me. I am am very grateful for their kind hospitality.

I took off with my backpack, my Longchamp bag and my now not-so-heavy suitcase and lugged it to the station. I struggled through two flights of stairs (walking up and down) when I took the wrong turn and realised that I had walked down to the incorrect platform and then sweated my way to the correct platform. Being underground, the heat wasn't helping.

I caught the Piccadilly line direct from Finsbury Park station to Heathrow London Airport. The train got rather crowded as people squeezed in the carriages with their suitcases. Julie had given me another book to read, called 'Tiger, Tiger'. During the one hour train ride I decided to read it. It's about paedhophilia. A seven year old girl and a fifty one year old man. I'm intrigued.

I checked in immediately as I arrived at terminal one. I'm flying with Air New Zealand today.

I sat in to have lunch at 'Giraffe' and had a chicken curry with rice, it wasn't that great but it satisfied my peckish stomach.

I am seated on the plane in a two seater row and am lucky enough to have the two seats to myself. The worst thing about sitting in the window seat is having to trouble the person next to you to get up for you to go to the bathroom. I hate inconveniencing people.

I recently finished reading a book called 'One Day' and coincidently they had the movie showing in the inflight entertainment. I finished the movie but didn't enjoy it as much as I enjoyed the book. I am glad that I read the book before seeing the movie. I guess books are just more in depth and exciting.

Dinner was a slow cooked beef and ale casserole, cheddar potato mash and beans accompanied by a tomato and mint pasta salad and warmed bread roll. The pasta salad was very bland but the beef casserole was really good. I had red wine with my dinner. Honeycomb ice-cream for dessert.

I spent the last few hours of the plane ride seeing movies here and there and reading bits from my new book. I caught up on about 5 episodes of Gossip Girl before my laptop decided to go to sleep on me. I've managed to keep myself occupied during the plane ride and realised that time had passed quickly.

I am super excited about seeing Marrie and spending my next 9 nights in the States. Vy and Khoa are currently in New York and will be joining us the next day. It's going to be an awesome time with friends.

I waited for a long time in the immigration line. The procedure was very interrogative. They finger print you, take a photograph and even go to the extent of asking what I have packed in luggage and bags.

I was finally greeted by Marrie at the arrival gates. It was so nice to see my childhood friend again. It's been a year since I last saw her. We spent the car ride home talking about my travels and her life in LA. So I've now been up for more than 24 hours. I'm so jet lagged.

Goodnight world.
XOXO
