I said to goodbye to Patrik in the morning as he had an earlier flight than me. I went back to my hotel room and blogged for a few hours waiting for the shops to open - so that I could get some brunch before leaving to the airport. When the MBK centre finally opened, I went to the food court and ordered myself a papaya salad and beef noodle soup. Just a little bit of authentic Thai cuisine before I head back to Nepal - brunch was great and cheap.
400 baht later, I arrived at the international airport. Unfortunately, my flight was delayed for an hour - this was so annoying. I was getting rather impatient with the all waiting. There was a massive queue of Nepalese people with loads of luggage which took longer than usual at check in. I waited in line for another hour before getting my boarding pass. Finally, for lunch I sat in a cafe and had a chicken sandwich and tea. My tummy was not feeling too well, I just hope I'm not getting sick.
I was very happy to finally be on the plane, during the plane ride I was feeling really uneasy and was absolutely freezing from the icy air conditioning. I had dozed off several times curled up in a ball against the window. Soon after take off, I felt a fever coming on. Oh no, I was getting sick and I sure wasn't feeling well at all. It was the worst plane ride ever. After 3.5 hours, I arrived in Kathmandu's warm weather with a burning fever and aching muscles. I had booked the same hotel - they offer free airport pick ups but I had troubles locating them. After a few minutes, they found me - I was then travelling through the crazy Kathmandu city in a boiling hot tiny car with 4 other men. During the ride, I remained quiet after answering a few questions about where I've been over the last few days. I kept touching my forehead to see if the fever was progressing. The weather in Kathmandu wasn't helping me either, I felt like I was in a sauna and my body was aching so bad. It's the worse I've felt in a very long time. I checked into the hotel and crawled myself into bed - it was 6pm.
Good night world.
XOXO
