My usual daily routine - wake up at 7am, help the kids with homework and have breakfast (dal bhat) at 9am. Jeeban drew another cool picture for me. His artistic skills are just amazing. I have the biggest smile on my face when I receive drawings from the kids - being an arty person myself - I really appreciate all the effort and love put into a sketch. The boys browsed through my phone for power rangers, hattori and other cartoon images. I taught them how to browse on google once and they remember it so clearly that I don't have to navigate for them anymore. They are such fast learners. As usual, they get ready for school and all wait patiently to be walked to school. They love holding hands but unfortunately I can only hold two of the kid's hands at once. Kiran is always the first to grab my hand. It is so sweet.
We went for breakfast (again) at Perky beans after we dropped the kids off. I had toast with eggs and cheese. The jam was really nice and the orange juice is cordial. I was stuffed.
My tattoo appointment was at 12pm today. I went and saw my tattooist and he showed me the sketch of my tattoo - it was perfect and exactly what I wanted. After an hour and a half of excruciating and tickling pain - the tattoo was finally done. Getting a foot tattoo was the most painful tattoo I've ever experience - especially in the position where I got mine. I paid 4000 rupees for the tattoo - extremely cheap. I had to walk barefoot leaving the tattoo parlour to avoid my thong rubbing my feet. The ground was overly heated from the strong sun - I was thinking "how the hell do people walk barefoot on these grounds everyday?" I've just taken 20 steps and I can't handle it already. Eventually, I put my thongs back because I just couldn't bare the heat, it felt like I was walking on hot, hot, hot, burning 100 degrees rocks.
We were suppose to take a boat out on the lake today, but my tattoo took longer than expected we were running out of time - so instead we chilled by the lakeside (under a tree) and ate our tuna and mayonnaise bread rolls and chips. It was nice sitting nearby the locals and enjoying such a beautiful lake view. I felt like a true local.
I am playing chef today and had decided to cook for everyone at the happy home. Swastika took me to a nearby store to buy vegetables. Kippolo cooked the rice. I will be making nasi goreng (using nasi goreng flavouring I had bought from Bali).
While I prepared everything, the kids did their homework.
It started to rain heavily to the point that the balcony over flooded. The drains were so blocked the kids had to bucket down water from the balcony.
I hadn't cooked in months. I actually missed it. Caren and Holly also helped with cutting up all the vegetables. The kids were all starving but we had to wait for the rice to be cooked. After three batches of fried rice, nasi goreng was finally served with tomatoes and cucumber on the side. The kids normally eat with their hand, but for some strange reason all of them used cutlery. The girls and I were all surprised. The nasi goreng sachet flavouring was a little bland, so I had to be creative and add a bit of flavour of my own. It is rather hard cooking a large quantity of food, but after tasting the nasi goreng I was impressed and I enjoyed the fried rice just as much as the kids did.
After lunch, I chilled out in the boys room with 'Step up 3' being played once again. The boys really like the movie that they're watching it for the second time. Jeeban drew another picture - I just love that the kids constantly draw mountains and paragliders - they are so influenced with their surroundings. The kids weren't getting fed dinner as they had a big lunch, so I decided to treat them with a packet of noodles each. I told them they should cook their noodles and have it with soup to get full, but these kids love eating it like chips. They all sat in the TV room and was hypnotised by the hindi TV series with their noodles. They made a huge mess in the TV room but all had cleaned up after themselves. Such domesticated kids.
Good night world.
XOXO
