Day 30 - Bali : Chill...

Good morning Tuesday. We skipped breakfast this morning and chilled out by the pool at Bali Mandala - sunbaking. I continued reading a few chapters of Hotel Kerobokan.

My package that Maria sent me two weeks had finally arrived but I was required to pay 417,000 rupiahs ($44) to receive it, which I found very unusual. Apparently, it’s got something to do with customs. Gede contacted the customs office and tried to talk them to waive the fee for me but it didn’t work. Unfortunately, I am desperate for the stuff in the package so I paid it. I was not very happy about it.

We played the Indonesian games again today in class. You could tell that the students had a great time and it was a change for them from learning English.

We played the Indonesian games again today in class. You could tell that the students had a great time and it was a change for them from learning English. The students love taking photos. Julia and I were snapping away during the class. It was another fun pass time for the students. It was so funny seeing how competitive some students got and witnessing all the laughter – really tells us they had a great time.

By the time school ended, we were way past of the point of starving. Having skipped breakfast and lunch, we asked Komung Eddie if he could give us a lift to get chicken sate sticks with rice. It was my turn to grab dinner, so I hopped on the back of Komung Eddies’s bike and we travelled about 10 minutes to a eat in warung and got freshly barbequed chicken sate sticks. I was so hungry and sitting there watching him grill the sticks for us was torture. We got two servings of sate sticks each and 5 rices. This meal surely did put us in a food coma but it was worth it – the sauce on the sticks was so tasty.

After dinner, we went separate ways with our laptops. I continued blogging and read a few more chapters of Hotel K. It wasn’t a really productive day for us. We are such lazy bums.

Good night world.
XOXO
