Noodles again. More blogging. I have so many days (2 weeks) of photos to sort out for my blog. It's getting out of control - but I'm working on it. I spent all morning sorting it out. I'm getting somewhere with it, slowly making progress.
Komung Eddie is back today, he had a lovely day off. It's been a while since he had one and he spent all day praying. Today, it was my turn to have a go with the roll call. I was hopeless with it - especially with my aussie accent and pronunciation - at least it was entertainment for the kids. From yesterday's class we learnt that the kids have troubles pronouncing and recognising the alphabet. We did the same activity today and asked the kids to come up one by one or in pairs (whichever they felt comfortable with) to read out the alphabet. It is known that they have difficulties with 'J', 'K','S' and 'V'. I found it strange that the kids were taught to sing the alphabet incorrectly. The starting tune was correct, but once they got to 'L, M, N, O , P etc the tune changed and it was no longer sounding like the alphabet song that I know anyway. I didn't want to correct them as that will just confuse them even more. However, the four of us all looked at each other so puzzled when we heard it.
When the students were comfortable with pronouncing the letters correctly, we played 'Hangman'. Just like yesterday's lesson, we got the students to come up individually to think about a word the class could guess. It was the first time since playing the game that we actually a 'hangman'. We played a few rounds and then proceeded with 'Chinese Whispers' - my favourite game. The game that always gets me hysterically laughing.
It was our final class with the first Tuesday class - our all girls class. We said our goodbyes and they expressed their thanks and gratitude.
On the school event day that we had on Sunday, two girls from the second Tuesday class had given both Julia and Christina a little gift and muffins previously. So in return, Julia with her fabulous artistic skills drew pictures for them. I suggested 'Blue Bear' which she sketched beautifully - changing the mouth because she didn't like the original. She also drew a flower - a wallpaper she found on her phone.
We did exactly the same thing with the a second class. The alphabet, hangman and chinese whispers. This class made me laugh so hard I could of pee'd my pants. One of the boys literally laughed till he pee'd his pants. He ran straight to the toilet. It was hilarious. The words and the sentences that we ended up with was no where near the original words. This shows us that some of the students have difficulties and a possibility of lacking in confidence to pronounce some english words. Overall, it was a great lesson.
At the end of the class, we said our goodbyes and took photos with the students. The two girls that Julia had drawn pictures for walked with us all the way home and we gave them hugs. They gave us each clips, which was really sweet.
Here's our Tuesday second class. Such sweet students.
My second package finally arrived today - thanks to Anita. Stocked up on more sunscreen, aeoguard and lucas paw paw. Once again, I had to pay a fee to receive it - it was less and more affordable this time. Still, I'm still annoyed that I have to pay a fee to receive a package. I just don't understand their system. After school, the girls decided to work out. I hung in the courtyard with them and worked on my blog.
Just before dinner, Timo and Munchen came around and chilled with us. Munchen is such a cutie. A very playful dog.
We went to our favourite warung and got mi goreng, nasi goreng and fu yung hai. Timo tried the fu yung hai for the first time and loved it. Our water dispenser still hasn't been replaced so we are pouring the water into a pot and drinking it straight out of a pot. We didn't get up to much today. After dinner we chilled out for a little a while before going off with our laptops to catch up on some blogging or skyping with friends and family. Goodbyes are never nice - but like they say, all good things come to an end, and the whole week will be like this for Christina and I. It's sad but unfortunately, we must face reality.
Good night world.
XOXO
