Day 39 - Bali : Our last day in Bali...

Julia: "Sandi, wake up. Sandi wake up". Poking and shaking me. It had only been 45 minutes since I fell asleep. We had ended our night or should I say morning at 5am after the farewell. Our dolphin tour was booked to meet up at 5:30am. We were already late. Christina was still asleep and the state that she was in the night before, we didn't bother waking her  - and a boat ride was definitely not a good idea for her either. It was very dark and I was still intoxicated and half asleep. I suggested that we take the motorbike, as it would be a very dark walk through the jungle to Bali Mandala. I reversed Komung Eddie's bike out of our courtyard and went rolling down the tiny hill, being intoxicated my reflexes weren't quick enough to hit the brake and CRASH!!! I hit into the wall. The bike landed on me and Julia helped me get out of it. I was in so much pain, my ankle and my thigh were throbbing. At that point, there was no chance that I was able to ride or even walk to Bali Mandala. I hopped straight back into bed. Thankfully, Potok was awake and helped us moved the bike back into our courtyard. He drove Julia to Bali Mandala to inform Gede that we will not be able to make it for the dolphin tour. Note to self : Do not ride intoxicated.

We woke up at 9am and Christina heard about my mini accident. We laughed about all morning. The most silly thing anyone can do, like how can you forget to brake right? Oh well, I know never to ride drunk. We went to Bali Mandala and had nasi goreng for lunch. I didn't feel like sun baking so I stayed under the tree in front of the sea and blogged. I was in so much pain from my accident. I couldn't walk properly and limping everywhere. Still couldn't get over how silly I was.

It's our last lesson today. We had the students come up with a dialogue - pairing them up. The pair came up and read out their dialogue. A lot to them came up with "Hi, How are are you. What is your name. I'm fine thank you. My name is ...... It's nice to meet you. Where are you going. I am going to ...... See you next time. Bye." It was very basic but they were on the right track. The other task we asked was to write a passage of what they wanted to be when they grow up and why. To end the class, we wrote a series of random places, objects and things on the board. We played a game like taboo, giving basic clues and the students had to guess what word correlated with the clues. They were very smart kids as they got everything correct. When the class ended we advised that that it will be the last lesson for Christina and I as we are leaving Bali tomorrow. The class expressed their thanks and wished us well.

A group shot with our Thursday class.

Here are the volunteers and Komung Eddie. Yes, I have gone a lot darker since being in Bali. I am loving my new tan.

My last walk through the jungle. I'm gonna miss it. When we arrived home, Potok was once again in his trunks giving München a bath. Such a funny look. We always tease him about it. haha.

Our last Balinese meal. I decided that I want to have nasi campur one last time with some spring rolls and deep fried vegetables. I was stuffed, I had to ask Christina to help me finish the spring rolls and vegetables, it was just too much food. Dinner was so satisfying - as always. As we were walking to get the food, the sky was just so beautiful. The colours were just amazing. It was so nice to see this. The pink, purple and orange colours was beautiful. It was such a lovely night.

After dinner, we chilled in the courtyard. Christina decided to put together the safety drawers cabinet but was having a hard time doing. We called Potok over to help us. München also came over to chill and was playing with a bottle. I still can't come to terms that this is our last night in Bondalem. It has been an amazing one month sharing this wonderful experience with Julia and Christina. It's true when they say "time flies when you're having fun". I can honestly say that this statement is 100% spot on. Sandra came by to bid us farewell as we will not be seeing her in the morning as we are taking off pretty early.

Good night world.
XOXO
