Day 5 - Vietnam : Congratulations Ryan & Susan...

Today is the wedding day, however the ceremony doesn’t start till 4.30pm. We have the whole day to chill but we also have to run through a few things with the wedding planners to ensure the wedding runs smoothly. I woke up early this morning and I met Yu Hun and Adam for breakfast at our not so great breakfast buffet at Sea and Sands. After breakfast we made our way to The Boutique and hung out at the beach. We swam in the water and I mostly sun baked. It is a very beautiful day today and we can now see them setting up for the area for the ceremony. Its all coming together and everyone is so excited.

After our long swim and sunbaking, we had lunch at the restaurant. This time I tried their banh xiao – a Vietnamese pancake with meat filling where you dip it into a special sauce. I don’t normally eat this back at home because I don’t like beansprout and this dish is packed with beansprout, so I requested to have it without it. In Hoi An they make it slightly different, you wrap it with rice paper and veggies and dip it into two different type of sauces – divineeeeeeeee. My lunch was also accompanied with the infamous café se da (Vietnamese coffee).

Yu Hun and Adam hired a scooter and Adam offered to give me a lift back to my hotel to get a few things so I can get my things ready for the wedding. Susan treated her mum, the bridesmaid and Wai Dak (one of the groomsman) with a medi and pedi at 2:30pm and I am running rather late. The bike ride was really cool.

So the time has finally come, us girls are all dressed and my dear friend Susan looks absolutely stunning. The ceremony was beautiful. Frank a friend of Susan and Ryan is the celebrant and gosh, it was the funniest ceremony ever – we had tears of laughter and also emotional tears. Trying to contain the tears and not ruining my makeup was very hard. It was such a beautiful day for a perfect wedding. The ceremony was held on the beach where all the guest sat and watched the pair exchanged their vows. It was very romantic and beautiful. After the ceremony we made our way to the marquee area and sat down for a scrumptious buffet dinner.

There was lion dance entertainment as this is a Vietnamese (also chinese) tradition. The dancers were amazing. In the photos you will see the beautiful sunset which was breathtaking.

So here we pronounce you husband and wife. Awwwwwwww.... Susan and Ryan the newly weds. <3 I guess I went really well with my speech, no one heard the tremor in my voice. I was super nervous. I did it all for love, my dearest girl - Susan. I am so happy that Susan has found her soul mate, they both deserve each other and complement each other in a way that not many people find these days.

We all had an awesome night dancing the night away and guess what ?? I even caught the bouquet (for probably the 5th time). However, during the catch I got tripped over by Khuong and fell to the ground HAHA - hence I am sitting on the ground in the photo with Khuong. I have an early flight tomorrow as I am flying out to Ho Chi Minh City and then taking a connecting flight to Hong Kong. The wedding ended at 11pm, as it is held at a resort we need to respect the other guests staying here. A few of us wanted to go clubbing but when we rocked up at the club, it was closed.  I guess its reasonable when you're in at such a remote area. A few of us sat by the pool and chit chat for a while before I made my way back to my miserable hotel and called it a night.

Good Night world.

XOXO
