Day 9 - Hong Kong : Macau & Lan Kwai Fong...

Today, we are heading to Macau. I have honestly been to Macau 5 times and I see the same things over and over again. But, I didn't mind coming with Belle's family. So here we are at the Ruins of St Paul's. Awesome structure, but I have taken so many photos of it during each visit. We arrived in Macau rather late and by this time it was way past our breakfast or lunch. Immediately, we searched for a restaurant. For some odd reason, it was really hard to find a restaurant (I also had the same problem last time). So anyway, we decided to ask a local and we were directed to the most traditional local restaurant you can find. Dirty restaurant is what Belle's aunt will say. haha. But we believe the dirtier the place, the yummier the food. We are always right. We all had noodles and OMG, I had the tastiest bowl of wonton noodles ever. I paid for everyone's lunch and it was so so so so cheap. I have got to say that the architecture in Macau is spectacular, that is the one thing I love about Macau (besides the portuguese egg tarts). The architecture is a curious blend of chinese and portuguese art form. The buildings of Macau are grouped into several architectural phases depending upon the period of time when they were developed. The architecture exudes colours from asia, europe and even fusion of the two. It's really a different feel when you're in Macau, you also get to feel a sense of european which is pretty nice.

Being the adrenaline junkie that I am - I wanted to do the bungy jump again. But I didn't want to do it alone. I was trying to persuade Belle all day but in the end, even being up in the tower - her answer was still no. Boo to Belle. Oh wells, I'm back in Hong Kong in August and I will have Nancy with me so I'm definitely going to make my 5th jump then. We bought really yummy portuguese tarts in some really small village and apparently they are the best in Macau. Boy, I think I have to agree. I was still very stuffed from lunch so I only consumed one. Because we had split with Belle's family, we bought some for them to try. After the tarts and the tower, we met Belle's family at The Sands Casino, we decided to try our luck - we definitely had no luck. Boo. Belle's mum being so against gambling started to play for fun and surprisingly enough she was the only one that walked out there winning some money. When I first arrived at The Sands Casino, the massive golden sign caught my attention and I told Belle that I must get a photo there. Belle being a planker agreed with me and yes we did it. We sneaked and climbed onto the sign, took a few photos and jumped off before security realised. It was so funny.

When we got back to Hong Kong, it was time for dinner so we headed to TST in hope to have japanese as we were all craving for it. The restaurant we intended on going to was actually really busy and we didn't want to wait up to 40minutes as we were all starving. So we ended across the road to "The Dining Club". Straight up, we ordered sake :) and our meals. I have never had open sushi (called don) and it was really interesting. So I ordered a mixed sashimi one.  Don is basically a sushi roll in a bowl (obviously a bigger serving than a hand roll). My first ever don tasted amazing. I would definitely dine here again. I think I remember the address? Cameron St. TST.

Being a little hyped on Sake, I suggest to go to LKF for a few drinks only :) just a few. hehe. Tequila shots and martinis - yummy. Im glad Belle was able to keep up with me. We went to Insomnia and Club 97 where I met a lovely local girl named Apple. She asked if we wanted to join her at Beijing Club and we said yes. But however, due to the fact that I was wearing thongs, I wasn't allowed in. Boo them. We went back to Club 97 for a bit and then headed home.

To Belle's surprise, I actually called it an early night. She was super happy to go home. haha. That's enough drinking for one day.

Good night world.
XOXO
