It's a beautiful day in Hong Kong today. Still very warm. I met with Belle at the IFC mall. I took her to the famous 1 michelen star Tim Ho Wan and had dim sums. The bbq pork buns are what I'm really here for and Belle loved it. We had 9 dishes and was totally stuffed :) There was one bbq pork bun left that Belle doggy bagged. hehe. Today, I went to the post office and sent off 7 kgs worth of excess baggage. Unfortunately, I had to part with some of my clothes as my luggage was way too heavy. I just don't have the strength to lug around 30kgs. Postage was quite expensive but I had no choice.
My mission today was to find a pair of flats, nice flats as I do not want to wear heels anymore in Hong Kong. The streets are just too dangerous for heels - especially if you're intoxicated. We headed to Central and had no luck, but just when we were giving up we stumbled across Nine West. I walked out with two pairs of nice flats - one for day wear and one for night wear. It was perfect and a little expensive. At least, I know they're good quality and that they will last me for the next month. Belle and I were getting rather restless so we stopped by Gloria Jeans for a shot of espresso, it really did wake us up :) - the magic wonders of coffee. ahhhhh. Belle's mum called and asked to meet up for dinner so we head to Sham Sui Po for some yummy dinner. We were still very full from our late lunch so we warned Belle's mum and aunt to not order too much as we were stuffffffffed. They listened and only ordered a few dishes just enough to feed all of us. We went to a very local restaurant where the toilets were the squatting style one, (eeeeeeeekkkk) totally horrible - I was desperate and I had to go. It was dangerous in that toilet because little did I know that I had to dodge to not get toilet water flushed on my foot. Grosssss!!! Grrrrrr.. At the dinner table on the tiled walls were actual toilet roll holders with toilet paper for you to use. How gross is that right? They don't really give you proper facial tissues to use in Hong Kong, I find it very weird.
After dinner, we said goodbye to mum and auntie and headed to Soho for some chill out drinks. I was really fascinated about the first bar we stopped by. This place had massive blue doors, looked like it was closed and had no bar sign. We walked in and man it was the most beautiful place I have ever seen. This place was so mysterious. I found out that the bar is called Feather Boa. Everything in this bar was like moulin rouge. I loved it. Apparently, they are famous for their strawberry daiquiris - so we both tried one. The glasses are coated with chocolate - how cool. After a daiquiri each, we headed to Le Jardine (again) and had tequila shots, chilled for a bit before making our way to Wan Chai.
It's Wednesday night which means its ladies night in Wan Chai - woohoo. We get free drinks. Yay. We went to a place on Luard St called Mes Amis where we met Dee, Natalie, Elsa, Alexandra and Lihi - all living and working in Hong Kong. We stood in front of the club for a while just getting to know these girls. The one thing about Hong Kong that I love most is that people here are super friendly - no matter who you meet.
After Wan Chai, the french girls wanted to head back to LKF and dropped in at Felfela - a shisha lounge. It was so cool and we were the only ones there. Hanging out with these crazy french really made our night. We danced our night away to arab music and it was so much fun. The apple flavoured shisha was sooooo good, I couldn't get enough of it. We had so many tequila shots that we even got a free round on the house. Score. Woohoo.
So it was an early night, we said good night to these amazing new friends at 1.30am.
Good night world.
XOXO
